Welcome to Freedom Homeschoolers

June , 2018

Freedom Homeschoolers was created in 2005 to support homeschooling families in the Phenix City, AL / Columbus, GA area regardless of religious affiliation. Faith based or secular - all are welcome! Support for each family is offered through group activities, co-ops, field trips, or perhaps just a chance to sit and chat with other homeschoolers. Attend as many or as few activities as you like. Family membership is very affordable at just $20 for the school year.

Upcoming Activities

We are buzzing with activities. The best way to stay informed is to send in your membership and join our Facebook group. Group activities are listed primarily on our Facebook events. Occasionally events are also posted on our website calendar. Be sure to attend our annual Not-Back-To-School party on August 29, 2018. For more details, click on the link on the left toolbar.

Here are a few of our favorite group things:
  1. Co-op is offered in fall and spring for all ages. We meet once a week for 6 weeks and provide classes on all sorts of topics. Next Co-op is scheduled to begin in September 2018 at Landmark Church in Phenix City. Check out all the details HERE
  2. Field Trips for all ages! Places like American Village, Fernbank Museum, McWane Science Center and Oxbow Meadows
  3. Teen Activities (ages 13-18)like monthly movie dates, international potlucks, study groups and even PROM!
  4. Graduation. Planning for commencement exercises for homeschooled graduates begins early in the year. Updates coming soon for the Class of 2019

Volunteers

We're looking for volunteers to coordinate activities and events. We would like to offer events and activities for homeschoolers of all ages. Preschool, Elementary, Middle and High School. If you are interested in planning a group activities, field trip or event, please email Suzanne at sheepers@bellsouth.net or post the information on the Facebook group. Without your participation, we won't have the diversity of activities to choose from. Don't be afraid, get involved. It's the best way to make new friends.
