Freedom Homeschoolers was created in 2005 to support homeschooling families in the Phenix City, AL / Columbus, GA area regardless of religious affiliation. Support for each family is offered through group activities, co-ops, field trips, or perhaps just a chance to sit and chat with other homeschooling families. Family membership is very affordable at just $20 for the school year. If you would like to learn more about membership benefits, please email us at membership@freedomhomeschoolers.com   Members may be added all through the year but please allow us a few days to receive and process your request.

If you're looking for the best way to meet other homeschoolers, come join us for Park Day. We meet every Friday from 10 am-noon at Cooper Creek Park in Columbus. During the school year, our hours change to 2-4 pm. Kids of all ages come and join us for a time of fun and fellowship at the park. This is a great opportunity to meet the group!

Upcoming Activities

We are buzzing with activities. The best way to stay informed is to join our YAHOO! group. This will allow us to send detailed emails to you about upcoming events. Another great way to keep up is to join us out on facebook. Every group activity is listed on our website calendar as well as our facebook events.

Look at our calendar for more details about these events:
  1. Field Trips
  2. Teen Activities
  3. Spring Co-op
  4. Biology labs
  5. Let us know what activities you'd like to participate in next year. We don't want to waste time and resources planning events you don't want to attend. Let us know by voting in the poll. Vote for as many ideas as you would like. Each vote requires a separate entry.

Mom's Night Out

Each month we will host a night out for homeschool moms.Do you have ideas for a fun night out with friends? Send them to us at sheepers@bellsouth.net

We'll start up the new school year in September 2011:
  1. February: Barnes & Noble on the 9th at 7 pm
  2. March
  3. April
  4. May

Volunteers

We're looking for volunteers to coordinate activities and events. We would like to offer events and activities for homeschoolers of all ages. Preschool, Elementary, Middle and High School. If you are interested in planning a group activities, field trip or event, please email Suzanne at sheepers@bellsouth.net or post the information on the e-loop. Without your participation, we won't have the diversity of activities to choose from. Don't be afraid, get involved. It's the best way to make new friends.
